This blog offers words of wisdom which point, in the most direct way possible, to this timeless universal essence, so that it may be discovered and known in direct experience by those who are open to receive it.It appears that ultimately everybody's purpose of life is EXACTLY the same, although they may know it by different names (or by no name).

You may say "I long to find my authentic / true / essential Self", realising that your ‘self-image’ is imaginary and has nothing to do with who you really are.

Or, you may feel that "in order to find true peace, I somehow need to connect to the Ground of my being", knowing deep down that your entire life hitherto has been based on questionable certainties.

Others sense that there is an elusive secret of life to be discovered, a kind of ultimate Truth, deeper than any of their current, relative beliefs about life.

Those who experience this existential longing as 'lack of freedom' seek to free themselves from that all-pervasive sense of limitation and bondage; and those who experience it as 'separation' might strive for deep connection with everything and everybody around them, in fact the entire universe. Many simply refer to that which is being sought as 'God'; the word that resonates most with me is 'Love'. Whichever - every human being appears to have this deep, unfulfilled longing in the core of his or her being. If you know what your deepest unfulfilled longing is, and if your search is in service to that (and not to something less authentic, some substitute), then there is a possibility that you will find it in the depth of your being, in the very core of your heart. In the words of Rumi   the 13th century poet: Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving. It doesn't matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. Come, even if you have broken your vow a thousand times Come, yet again, come, come.

After discovering it, people often describe what has been revealed as a COMPLETE surprise - they refer to it as awakening, liberation, realisation, enlightenment or similar. And with this Self-recognition comes deep peace, absolute freedom and openness, oneness beyond connectedness and authentic living.

Rumi   again:

The roads are different, the goal is one ... When people come there, all quarrels or differences or disputes that happen along the road are resolved. Those who shouted at each other along the road "You are wrong" or "You are an unbeliever" forget their differences when they come there, because there all hearts are in unison.
