I look at this quote And I think ... which at times one can really hash things up with ones thoughts. Was I born with a cleansed perception? If so, along the way through the story of my life, it has become contaminated? Would that be then from our conditionings? Ancestral? From misinterpretations our illusions? I have lost myself in self ... the body. Now perhaps I can see that I am my own creator. I have a choice. Yet, to me it still feels that I am in and out of the dream state ... why? Would you be able to expand on this, if possible please. Thank you for sharing a wonderful blog.
This has been the human condition since Adam and Eve (in Christian mythological terms), i.e. ever since the contamination of pure knowledge (Truth, God, Paradise) by 'personal' knowledge (serpent/apple from the tree of knowledge). It is the (untrue) perception of everything as existing in time and space instead of infinity, making everything appear separate and subject to birth and death.
"Yet, to me it still feels that I am in and out of the dream state ... why?"
Because both experiences, that of being in a dream and out of the dream, are only states arising in the Dream Story. Awakening is NOT a state - it is the recognition of yourself as that from which and in which all states arise, and that which is all states, but it itself is NOT a state.
